The weather turned on the next day. We were the only people out for a jaunt. Our boat left us on a rainy, windswept shore of Lake Te Anau to walk the nine miles home.

We hiked along the Kepler Reach trail following the Waiau River all the way to Rainbow Reach.
Some signs weren't all that helpful.
